FG sets up c’ttee on varsity hostels

Abuja -  Determined to address the incidence of acute shortage of hostels accommodation being experienced by university students in Nigeria, the Federal Government yesterday inaugurated a committee charged to develop a concept, which will facilitate provision of decent accommodation for teeming students’ population.

Minister of State for Works, Housing and Urban Development, Chief (Mrs.) Grace Ekpiwhre, while inaugurating the committee in Abuja, however, charged the members to pursue vigorously the objective of the Private Public Partnership (PPP) to achieve the goal.

She charged members of the Committee, tagged Committee on University Hostel Build, Operate and Transfer Project, to seriously pursue the objective of the Private Public Partnership as a way of meeting the ever increasing need for the provision of affordable and decent accommodation for the increasing number of students in the country’s Universities.
