…Brazil to play in Lagos

Following a special request from the Local Organising Committee to FIFA, three-time champions Brazil have been given special status and will play at the Lagos Centre during this year’s FIFA Under-17 World Cup.
The South Americans have been seeded automatically as the top team in Group B.
Hosts Nigeria are the top seeds in Group A and will play in Abuja. understands that the request to give Brazil the special status was for ‘promotional purposes’ and FIFA granted the request.
Brazil, along with Nigeria are the two countries with the most successes at this level, each having split six titles equally between them.
Both countries have also been runners-up twice, but the Brazilians edge their African counterparts in having finished third once.
