LAGOS – Afribank Nigeria Plc, last week, promoted 405 staff in recognition of their diligence and efficiency.
A statement by the bank said â€œjunior officers of the bank who had acquired higher academic qualifications were also upgraded to positions that correspond with their new skills, competencies and capacity to handle higher job functions.
The promotion exercise cuts across General Manager, Assistant General Manager, Principal Manager and other grades and benefitted about 12 per cent of the workforce of the bank.
The exercise has been applauded by staff of the Bank who believed that Management had demonstrated good work ethics and an unyielding commitment to uplift their career empower them economically and enhance their competitiveness by every parameter.
The two staff unions in the bank, National Union of Banks, Insurance and Financial Institutions (NUBIFIE) and Association of Senior Staff of Banks, Insurance and Financial institutions (ASSBFIE) praised the Management for adequately responding to the staff welfare, the transparency and objectivity displayed on the exercise.
