UGHELLI—A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in  Delta State and one-time chairman of the party in Ughelli South Local Government Area of the state, Olorogun Amos Itihwe, has commended the state party chairman, Chief Peter Nwaoboshi, for putting life into the party in the state.

Itihwe who made the commendation while fielding questions from newsmen at Ughelli yesterday, said the leadership style of Chief Peter Nwaoboshi has made the party and its membership responsive to the three-point agenda of the state governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan.

He, however, urged the state party chairman to remain focussed and resolute in his determination to better position the party in the state and said “the state chairman should avoid those politicians with undemocratic attitudes so that the re-branding of the party by the national executives of the party will be a success in the state.”

Itihwe, who is a council chairmanship aspirant in Ughelli South stated that Chief Nwaoboshi is the best party chairman in the South-South geo-political zone for ensuring strict adherence to party rules, regulation and discipline, adding that “Chief Nwaoboshi is the miracle of politics in the state.”

He urged him to continue to mobilize party members to support the three-point agenda of the Uduaghan / Utuama led administration. On the 2009 council chairmanship election in Ughelli South, Itihwe called on the leaders of the party in Ughelli South and at the state level to allow the Ewu political bloc to produce the council chairman.

He pointed out the Ewu bloc has not produced a council chairman since the creation of the council eighteen years ago.
