Zaria – The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has dismissed one of its staff (names withheld) involved in examination malpractice that recently rocked the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria, Kaduna State.
Although NCAT prepares its students for licensing examinations, the regulatory agency has the statutory responsibilities for conduc-ting the examinations.
Vanguard had gathered that the NCAA staff, who is one of the examiners for NCAT, asked one of the students to pay some money into his secret account and was obliged by the student who later reported the matter to the college’s Rector, Capt. Adebayo Araba and the student turned out to be one of six who failed and were asked to withdraw.
NCAA Director-General, Dr. Harold Demuren, who confirmed the development in Zaria, yesterday, said the culprit was currently being detained at Kirikiri prison in Lagos.
