Speaking on the occasion of the 28th annual conference of the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN) in Makurdi, Benue State, Marketing Director of GlaxoSmithKline, Mrs. Hannah Oyebanjo, said â€œCommunity Pharmacy Practice is a key success factor and an essential component in the health of the nation, so deepening their skill base, in our view is a very worthy investment.
â€œWe are delighted to partner with Study of Pain in Nigeria (SSPN who have remained consistent and highly dedicated to this particular aspect as well as the general promotion of knowledge amongst pharmacists and health practitioners. GSK Panadol and SSPN are both working towards achieving the same goal of improving the care of patients in pains. In his address, National Chairman of ACPN, William Etubiebi, commended the brand, Panadol for its notable contributions towards empowering pharmacists thereby boosting the profession.
Etubiebi highlighted the important role of Community Pharmacist in identifying and prescribing drugs for various pains. He stated that the pharmacist, as a drug expert, has the responsibility to offer the best choice of pain management after carefully weighing the potential benefit against the risk and so must be updated on pain management.
