A GROUP of education rights activists, under the umbrella of Education Rights Campaign (ERC), has accused the Federal Government of being insensitive to the problems confronting the nation’s university education, which have prompted the industrial actions by various unions in the university system.
Members of the three unions in the nation’s universities – Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Related Institutions (NASU) are currently on strike over, among other things, poor funding of the university education.
ERC in a statement by its National Coordinator and National Secretary, Messrs. Taiwo Hassan and Chinedu Bosah Donald respectively, said the group was solidly behind the indefinite strike embarked upon by SSANU.
