The music scene is set to welcome a new pop diva. Fondly called Kimwonder, she has worked tirelessly in studios in USA and Nigeria to package a four track album aptly titled Right Time Party, which she solely composed and arranged.

With other tracks like Enjoy The Moment, Traffic 2 Haven and Papa, the new musical work will be presented to the public on the 4th of July 2009 at the Hotel Presidential Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

According to Kimwonder, her decision to do music on a professional basis rather than pursuing the course she studied in the university essentially has to do with sheer interest.

“I have loved pop songs since I was a child, and it is no surprise that I did an album of pop and R&B. I am in music because that is what tickles my fancy, but I studied Agric Economics because I need to be knowledgeable to be able to pass the message and experience across to my fans.”

The album, which was produced by Mister Chris also features a collaboration with X-Human, a fast-rising rapper who is based in Port Harcourt.

According to Mister Chris, the decision to work with Kimwonder stems from her humility as well as talent. “It is not always that you run into women with such level of beauty being humble at the same time. I worked with a girl who has humility, beauty and talent in truckloads, and that was what convinced me that she would go places.”
In spite of the feeling that pop as a genre of music is going into extinction, Kimwonder insists that the music is still hot, and has all someone needs to propel oneself to the position of reckoning.

“I do not want to sound boastful, but I can tell you that the future of pop music is still very bright.

If you look around the world, the hottest music sensations all have pop background.

You can see what is gong on about Michael Jackson, and his larger than life image even at the point of death. Beyonce, Kelly Rowland are all there.

A whole lot of them even in Nigeria are examples of success from pop music. I have carefully fused R&B and pop, and the result is this new album.”
