EC staff goes to NPC

Awka- THE 2010 governorship election to be held in Anambra State has been fixed for January 20, 2010 by the Independent National Election (INEC), the national chairman of All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), Chief Edwin Umezeoke said in Awka yesterday.

Speaking during the handing over of the party’s ticket for the election to Chief Mike Ejezie, the party’s erstwhile state chairman, Umezeoke said the party would not repeat the mistake of 2007 which cost it the governorship election.

According to him, the decision to nominate Ejezie to carry the party’s flag was taken during the South East zonal meeting of the party held on Friday, adding that the entire South East would work together to ensure that Ejezie emerged winner during the election.

With the nomination, Ejezie becomes the second to oficially get  the nod for the 2010 election, the first being the former Governor of the state, Dr. Chris Ngige, who is to fly the flag of the Action Congress (AC).

Umezeoke said that the party decided that it would no longer be deceived by anybody with money, adding that ANPP made a mistake in 2007 that caused it the Governorship of the party in Amawbia, adding that the election in Anambra State in 2010 would be a spring board for ANPP to do well in the 2011 elections in the South East.
