Nigeria’s Under-17  team, the Golden Eaglets, will tackle two-time African champions Gambia next month, according to the team coach, John Obuh.
Obuh told Goal.com, “We are scheduled to take on Gambia in Banjul as part of our build-up to the World Cup. What is left now is for the authorities to agree the dates for the friendly.â€
Gambia won their second African Junior championship in Algeria earlier this year. They first grabbed the trophy when they hosted the competition in 2005.
The Eaglets are currently on a playing tour of Ghana and Togo.They have also been invited to a regional CECAFA tournament and officials announced they will train at the Aspire Academy in Doha, Qatar.
Nigeria are the defending champions of the FIFA Under-17 World Cup after they pipped Spain in the final in 2007 in Korea.
