UGHELLIâ€”A member of the board of directors of the Delta Broadcasting Service (DBS), Asaba, Mrs. Eda Ekemere, has donated tiles worth some thousands of naira to the station so as to facilitate the installation of the state of the art FM radio equipment.
The state government for effective and efficient radio transmission purchased the state-of- the-art FM radio equipment to boost radio transmission across the state and beyond but the equipment according to reliable sources could not be installed since tiles were not bought and fixed on the floor of the radio studio.
In an interview with newsmen, Mrs. Eda Ekemere said the decision to donate the tiles and to undertake the cost of the laying of the tiles was informed by her determination to contribute her quota to the development of the broadcasting station.
Ekemere,who was a councillor in Warri South local government council reiterated that the gesture was aimed at facilitating the installation of the equipment purchased by government to boost radio transmission in the state, pointing out that when installed, the equipment would further enhance dissemination of information in the state.
While thanking the state governor for appointing her into the board of the DBS, Asaba, she appealed for more appointment of women into political positions of authority. She added that the women like their men counterparts also have the where wither to hold positions.
