Anambra govt, LG partner on N1bn Electronics Academy

AWKA—A N1billion Electronics Academy is to be established in Anambra State by the renown giants in the industry, LG Electronics in conjunction with the state government.

Commissioner for Information and Culture, Chief Maja Umeh said yesterday, that government would contribute about 30% of the total cost, adding that when completed, the Academy would provide the state with ultra-modern warehouse, Reserve Centres and other key institutions.

According to him, the collaboration was a testimony of growing nternational confidence in the credibility of Governor Peter Obi’s administration, in its quest to take the economy of the state to greater heights.

He said that the state government had awarded contract for the reconstruction of roads in Akpaka Forest Reserve Estate near Onitsha, adding that the contract was awarded to Grand Star Construction Company for N1.5 billion.

Umeh said that state government had also awarded contract for the construction of the Iyi-Agu Water Channel in Awka, which was reopened by the Governor Obi last year as part of measures to provide permanent olution to the challenges of flooding in parts of the capital city.
