(Benue) — Dr. Alfred Tokiela, Tor-Tiv, has advised the Federal Government to use the rebranding campaign as a platform to bring concrete development programmes to the grass-roots.
Tokiela gave the advice, yesterday, in Gboko, Benue State, when he received the Minister of Information and Communications, Prof. Dora Akunyili, in his palace.
“The re-branding project should not be a Federal Ministry of Information and Communications (FMIC) affair; it should be translated into concrete programmes that will sink to the grassroots.
“Even a little child in the village should be able to know that this time we mean business in the project, which you (Akunyili) have initiated and now selling to us,†he said.
Tokiela, who is Chairman of the Traditional Rulers Council in the state, pledged the support of the council to the image campaign aimed at changing the public perception about Nigeria, noting that over the years the public perception about the country has deteriorated, particularly in the international community.
