Toka tasks political office holders on policies

By Fetus Ahoh
UGHELLI—CHAIRMAN of Otebor Political Forum (OPF), Comrade James Toka, has charged political office holders across the country to justify their offices by initiating policies and programmes that will promote the dividends of democratic rule in Nigeria.

Toka, who spoke when the OPF paid the Delta State Commissioner for Higher Education, Dr. Hope Eghagha, a courtesy visit, said though the country has witnessed great developments in the last ten years of democratic rule, a lot still needed to be done to achieve the vision 20-2020 of the Federal Government.

While commending the state governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, for his people-oriented programmes, he noted that the governor has a good crop of commissioners and other political office holders saddled with the responsibility to the various ministries and parastatals of the state government.

Speaking further, Toka congratulated Dr. Eghagha on his appointment as a commissioner in the state and urged him to bring his experiences to bear in the education sector.

In his remark, the state commissioner for Higher Education, Dr. Hope Eghagha, thanked the OPF for deeming it necessary to pay him the visit and to rejoice with him on his appointment.

Eghagha said the Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan-led administration was committed to the overall development of the state and appealed to Deltans to continue to support the state government in its quest to make the state a better place for them.
