Welcome to your regular column. Last week, I taught on the nutritional contents of the Word and the weapons in the Word. This week, I will show you how to access the treasures in the Word of God.
It is not the Word you hear or read that profits you; it is the Word you find. The question now is: How do I find the missing treasures from the Book (the Bible)?

Through redemption: A blind or dead person cannot access the treasures in the Bible. You can be a proof of an intellectual discipline, but spiritually dead. Until you are born again, you are not a candidate for revelation.
The Bible says: …Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables (Mark 4:11). The first step in exploring the treasures in the Bible is salvation. When your soul is saved, you then have access to spiritual realities in the Book. I will show you how to get saved towards the end of this teaching.

By the help of the Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. His work is to reveal to us the good package contained in God’s Word (1 Corinthians 2:9-10). Without Him, it is not possible to access these treasures. He does this by teaching us and showing us all the deep things God has prepared for us, as we read the Bible (John 14:26). He is a Great Teacher and Revealer of God’s secrets!
Our capacity is enhanced by the Holy Spirit, for us to gain access to the good treasures packaged in God’s Word (John 16:9-11).

By engaging your spirit in a search: When you are saved, you become a child of God. Not only that, you become a spirit being! God is a Spirit and for you to  gain access to Him and His Word, you do so as a spirit being (John 3:6).
When you engage your intellect in a search, you can only access mere stories, not the mysteries. Because the Bible is a Spiritual package, it takes your spirit to access its contents.

There is the parable of the woman who had 10 pieces of silver, but lost one. She lit a candle, searched and swept her house until she found it (Luke 15:8-10). She engaged her spirit for a search and she found the missing silver! Invariably, you can never find spiritual realities without engaging your spirit.

You engage your spirit because it is the link between you and God. You engage your spirit in a search, not your mind. There are treasures loaded in the Bible. All you need is to access them through your search in the Bible.
Through prayer and fasting: The Bible says: Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you (Matthew 7:7). When there is a challenge, you go asking for the solution through prayer and fasting. There is a breaking forth of light through the instrumentality of prayer and fasting. Most victories in my life came through prayer and fasting.
Any time I want to seek God for answers to some bogging issues of life, prayer and fasting are inevitable in my approach! For instance, in the early days of our ministry, when we were having challenges with church growth, I declared a three-day prayer and fasting. On the third day, God showed up and we started enjoying growth, till today! So, tune in now to prayer and fasting, to connect with the treasures in the Bible.

Through the ministry gifts: There are people ordained with some treasures from God (Ephesians 4:11-12). Some of them are pastors, evangelists, prophets, etc. When you get connected to them, you connect with the divine gifts and blessings they carry. Spiritual understanding is the cure for blindness.
These people have been empowered to help us see what God has packaged for us — the realities of the mysteries of the kingdom. They are there as our spiritual instructors, to enable us access treasures God has for us, to gain command in the affairs of life (Ephesians 3:8-11).

There was this testimony of a brother in our church, who was poor. He was so poor that when he walked on the streets, he would be looking for coins to pick from the floor. One day, the Holy Spirit ministered to him to read my book titled, Breaking Financial Harship. He devoured my book, accessed the treasures revealed unto him and he exploded financially! Today, he is no more a poor man! Until you open up to the ministry gifts, you can’t have what they carry. Other churches, ministries and groups emulate our strategies and teachings and they are making waves like us!

Another woman under satanic torment, was reading my book, Winning Invisible Battle, and a strange negative force that followed her for years left her! She was delivered! The Holy Spirit will help you in accessing these divine treasures as carried by these spiritual instructors called ministry gifts.
Friend, You can’t find spiritual realities without being spiritually alive. To find them, you have to be saved. You become spiritually alive by getting saved or by giving your life to Jesus Christ. You get saved by confessing your sins and accepting Jesus as your Saviour and Lord. If you are set for it, please say this prayer: Lord Jesus, I come to You today. I am a sinner. I cannot help myself. Forgive me my sins. Cleanse me with your precious Blood. Today, I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Thank You for saving me! Now I know, I am born again!
