SAA plans capacity building workshop for Nigerian partners

South African Airways is  organising a three-day marketing capacity building workshop for its 41 travel agents/partners in Nigeria.

The workshop, tagged “Train the Trade”, is designed to equip them with the requisite skills needed to market the airline’s various products and services.

SAA’s Head, Sales & Marketing Kemi Leke_Bamtefa, said the workshop, which would be provided free of charge to participants is a proactive move by the airline aimed at strengthening and improving the ability of staff of the travel partners to utilize relevant industry tools to enhance their company’s operations business.

Leke-Bamtefa disclosed that the airline “is delighted and extremely excited to support our trade partners through training and development of their employees at no cost, as we contribute our quota into growing their businesses and making them work easier,particularly in their dealings and partnership with our airline”.

Giving further insight into the rationale behind the SAA training exercise, she explained that the workshop aims to maintain cordial relationship (between the two parties), build loyalty with trade partners in the face of growing competition, provide a unique networking opportunity between travel agents and SAA staff personnel to improve accessibility, and increase easy communication flow amongst relevant parties.

According to the airline, participants will be further exposed to innovations that have taken place in different aspects of their daily operations relating to core services in the aviation industry, such as call centre reservation procedures, tour/ holiday packages on offer at SAA Holidays and Voyager-the airline’s frequently flyer and loyalty programme.

Participants would also be taken through other critical areas such as how to secure easy access to SAA staff and management, both at town office and the airport, proper understanding of tools being utlised for product and service delivery, confidence building lessons and a conducted tour of the airport to witness the airline’s operations which include, airport check-in process live on a flight day!
