Rivers Pdp intact, says Ake

By Jimitota Onoyume
PORT HARCOURT—RULING Peoples Democratic Party’s Chairman in Rivers state, Chief Godspower Ake,  has denied rumours of crisis in the party.
Ake, who spoke in Port Harcourt, said the party was intact, adding that it was not true that the party was factionalised between loyalists of the former governor, Dr Peter Odili and the present governor of the state, Rotimi Amaechi.

He said the party was firmly united and pursuing a common goal to position the state on the path of greatness.

According to him, Governor Rotimi Amaechi and himself were warmly received by Dr. Peter Odili at the last national convention of the party in Abuja.

This, he noted, was an indication that the party was intact in Rivers State.
“I even ate in the house of the ex-governor. All these comments of crisis existing in PDP, Rivers State, are not true.

“Nobody has come to say I’ve left PDP. Nobody has come to say I have problem with anybody. I’m the chairman of the party, I should know if there is anybody that has problem in the party”, he stated

He described the party as one big family in the state.
