Police arrest woman over hot water attack on hubby’s lover

The Police in Lagos have arrested a woman who, weekend, allegedly poured hot water on an undergraduate lady she suspected to be dating her husband.

The suspect identified as Mrs Kelechi Agwu, of number 22 Ogunleye Street, Okokomaiko, is currently being investigated by operatives at the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, Yaba.

Doctors in an undisclosed hospital around the area are said to be battling to save the life of the victim, a 200 level student of the Lagos State University, Ojo, identified as Adejumoke Okunuga, whose condition was at yesterday said to be critical.

Mrs Kelechi, as gathered, had on two accasions warned the undergraduate lady against dating her husband, allegedly threatening to react in a manner the lady might regret. She, however, made good her threat at about 8.15 a.m on Sunday.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Frank Mba, who confirmed the incident, said investigation into what he described as grievous harm was still on-going, adding that the victim was still receiving treatment.
