By Isiaka Oyibo

LOKOJA — A man in his mid-30s, yesterday, got drowned in River Niger while trying to fetch water with a bucket from the river at Ganaja area of Lokoja.

The drowning of Gideon Philemon, a security guard with the Lokoja branch of Zenith Bank, came  barely two weeks after two kids of the same parents lost their lives in same circumstances while bathing in the river.

As at press time the body of the deceased was yet to be retrieved while a combined team of Marine Police was seen combing the river.

Efforts to speak with the Manager of Zenith Bank proved abortive, but a senior manager who would not want his name in print confirmed that the management was  already holding a meeting on the unfortunate incidence.
