Dolphin honours late Rear Admiral Alabi

Emotions poured unrestrained last weekend  at the Dolphin Golf Club as the club honoured late  Rear Admiral David Alabi with a Special golf kitty. The maiden edition of the memorial event attracted large turn out of golfers who graced the event to be part of the remembrance of a great golfer.

The club captain Commodore Clifford Akelene teed off the praise session as he lauded the late Rear Admiral, describing him as a lover of golf.  He said the Alabi was honoured with the memorial kitty because of his passion not only for golf but for helping to make golf grow in Nigeria.

The former captain of Dolphin Golf Club, Captain J. Adewusi said without the massive support of the late Admiral, the club would not have been able to build the befitting Clubhouse and the purchase of the 100KVA generator and the green mower.

After 18 holes,  Lt. S. V Aligbe shot  67 net to emerge winner, while  CDR Adekunle Okeniyi carded 69 net to finish as first runner up.  Captain S.O. Paul with  70 net finished second runner up.

The best gross went to Yakubu Bulus who played 76 gross. The event also featured ladies, who also gave their last honour to the late admiral. The best net winner for ladies went to CDR Chisom Nwamabor Enemor who finished with a net of 90. The longest drive went to General CDR Odeh Ogwu. While the bogey price went to Capt Dan Echoga who played 132 gross.
