Afribank sets up agricultural units

KANO — To consolidate on its successful agriculture financing over the past 50 years and to enable it provide high quality financial services and products to farmers and agro-allied businesses in the North, Afribank Nigeria Plc has set up a agricultural coordinating office in the Northern Business Directorate.

The Northern Directorate, which is based in Kaduna, will supervise agriculture support initiatives and services of the bank in all parts of the Northern states through the newly created agric desk in Kaduna and other five regional offices.

Executive Director, North, Mr. Abbas M. Jega, explained that the office would be fully devoted to supporting agricultural development along the agricultural value chain from the farm to the market. It would engage farmers and agro-allied concerns small, medium or big to execute their agriculture-based projects and initiative through easy access not only to Afribank diverse financial services and products, but agric business advisory services which will be provided by a well trained, motivated and seasoned agricultural economists/agricultural business development experts.
