Adamawa ANPP sacks Chairman, others

By Umar Yusuf

YOLA — Rising from its extraordinary Executive Committee meeting held in conjunction with Forum of Local Government Chairmen, the Adamawa State Chapter of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) has announced the removal of its Chairman, Abdulrahman Bobboi and his Deputy, Yunusa Dantakada for what the party called  gross party misconduct and acts capable of bringing to disrepute the image of the party.

ANPP, at a meeting in Yola, yesterday, resolved that having exhausted deliberations and considered the party’s constitution, on the embattled Chairman and few members of the State Working Committees, it became imperative that the affected officials be sent packing.

According  to a communiqué issued after the meeting,  the party, “is left with no option than to painstakingly act fast in line with the ANPP Constitution to redeem the image of the party and position for the challenges ahead.” The statement was signed by 16 out of 21 LG chairmen.

“Abdulrahman Bobboi is liable under Article 23 (5) and Article 26 (v) of ANPP Constitution put together, having been appointed and sworn-in as Special Adviser to the Executive Governor of Adamawa State on Local Government Affairs. It is, therefore, against justice for Abdulrahman Bobboi to remain a day in office as Adamawa State ANPP Chairman after taking oath of office,” it added.
