Vanguard Investigation, yesterday in Owerri, confirmed that one of the troubled areas was Isiala Mbano local government area in the state.

According to a source, “The trouble in Isiala Mbano local government is that we have two chairmen, Mr. Obinna Onuegbu, who is loyal to Governor Rochas Okorocha and Julius Asagwara, who  is loyal to Senator Ifeanyi Ararume.”

The APC chairman, Owerri West Local Government Area, Mr. Charles Obieze Amadi told Vanguard that the delegate election in the area was free and fair with three persons declared winners.

“The winners were   Barr. Charles Amobi Jaja, Hon. Innocent Eke and Elizabeth Eke.

“The national delegate was led by Mr. Adedeji Kehinde and the returning officer was Emma Egemba. We had seven nominees and the delegates were 242.  We used the open ballot system.

“Barr. Charles Amobi Jaja came first with 78 votes, Hon. Innocent Eke,  came second  with 72 votes while Elizabeth Eke had 66 votes.

“For the fourth position, C.Y Amako scored 17 votes, Barr. Ugochi Nnanna Okoro, came fifth  with five votes, Gibson Achonwa, came sixth  with four votes, while Barr. Oke Ozuzu scored 0.

“We are happy that the people have spoken and that is how democracy should be practiced if we want to grow politically.”
