By Festus Ahon
ASABA—A member of Delta State Board of Internal Revenue, Chief Solomon Ighrakpata, has commended the state governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, for his prudent management of the state’s resources.
Ighrakpata, who made the commendation in a chat with Vanguard, said that despite the lean resources coming to the state, the governor was able to embark on people oriented projects across the state.
He said many roads had been built by the governor since he assumed office on May 29, 2015, adding that the Okowa-led administration has displayed a high sense of commitment to the development of both urban and rural communities.
He thanked the governor for the ongoing Ugbomro, Alegbon Road and Ekpan link road, among others, in Uvwie Local Government Area of the state.

He also commended the state government for commencing the construction of roads in the riverine communities, saying that the opening of the creeks was a good development which would boost the socio-economic lives of the people.
Ighrakpata, who was a member of the state House of Assembly, also thanked the governor for the various skill acquisition programmes for the youths, adding that a large number of unemployed Deltans have been taken off the labour market through the state’s job creation office.
He however, wondered how Governor Okowa was able to embark on these projects in the face of the dwindling resources of the state occasioned by the current economic recession.
To this end, he urged the people of the state to continue in their support for the administration of Governor Okowa.
