ONITSHA — Perturbed by the damage caused by last Wednesday’s fire incident that gutted about 20 buildings, many vehicles, tricycles and goods worth billions of naira, the Federal Government has reiterated its determination to send an assessment team that would compile the actual cost of damages, for possible assistance to the victims.

Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, who disclosed this, weekend, at the scene of the incident at Dennis Memorial Grammar School, DMGS, Roundabout, Onitsha, Anambra State during an official visit, said the extent of damage caused by the fire was too inexplicable that government would be forced to assist the victims as much as possible.
According to Ngige, “I will direct the National Directorate of Employment, NDE, which is a department of my ministry, to come down for an assessment tour of this scene, after which we shall see how we can assist in rehabilitating the victims.”
