Makarfi’s PDP faction faults Appeal Court’s  judgement

The Senator Ahmed Makarfi’s faction of Peoples Democratic Party, after the Nigeria police barred them from holding their crucial stakeholders meeting at the international conference centre, has faulted the last week’s judgement of the Appeal Court in Port Harcourt declaring the national convention that produced the Ahmed Makarfi-led Care-taker Committee illegal and affirming Ali Modu Sheriff as the authentic national chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The party also said that there was nothing wrong with the decision of the May 21st, 2016 National Convention and that the Convention did not violate any court order.

This was made known on the party’s official twitter handle, after the Makarfi’s Stakeholders meeting at Ekiti State Governor’s lodge today Monday.

The statement read:

‘The Stakeholders meeting of our great party comprising of all organs of the Party just ended here at the Ekiti state governor lodge, Abuja.

‘The Meeting deliberated on the outcome of the Appeal Court Judgement that ceded the leadership of the Party to Senator Ali Modu Sheriff.

‘The meeting also berated the action of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) that barricaded the ICC, original venue of the meeting.

‘At the end of the deliberations, the stakeholders of the Party after series of discussions arrived at the following resolutions

‘The Stakeholders endorsed the decision of the May 21st, 2016 National Convention of the PDP in Port Harcourt that constituted
the the Sen. Ahmed Makarfi led National Caretaker Committee, saying that the Convention did not violate any Order of the Court

‘The Stakeholders while holding the Judiciary in high esteem, faulted the Judgement of the Appeal Court in Port Harcourt’
