The management and staff of a local radio station in Asaba ( Trend 100.9 FM, Asaba), have been described as team players who are determined to push journalism especially broadcast journalism into a higher realm of information dissemination of making governance and activities of the Delta State Government known to the grassroots people.
This comment came from the Delta State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Patrick Ukah, during the one year anniversary celebration of the station held in Asaba within the week.
The Information Commissioner stated that the coming of Trend FM to Asaba was a manifestation that the state is an investment friendly one that is conducive for different businesses to strive Mr. Ukah shared the joy of the celebration with the management and staff of the station and tasked them not rest on their oars, adding that the sky was their limit as far as grassroots broadcasting was concerned.
The Managing Director of Trend FM, Asaba, Agatha Amata, had earlier outlined the circumstances that led to the establishment of the station in Asaba, stressing that it was actually an act of God.
She commended staff of the radio station for their doggedness in seeing that the station is always on air as expected. The General Manager of the station, Niyi Ojemakinde, in his remarks earlier thanked all those who turned up to join them in celebration.
