EDO 2016: APC Governorship primary election commences at 5.20p.m in Benin

•Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State (4th right) and seven governorship aspirants of the All Progressives Congress at a meeting with the aspirants.

Voting at the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship primary election by delegate ahead of the Sept. 10 Governorship poll commenced at about 5.30p.m at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin on Saturday.

The exercise commenced after completion of accreditation of all 2,580 of the expected 2,771 delegates from the three different centres of Agbado Primary School, Idah Model Primary School and Imaguero College all in Benin.

NAN reports that voting started with delegates from Edo North senatorial district and Akoko-Edo Local Government with Gov. Adams Oshimhole from Estako –West Local Government Area voting at about 5.33 p.m.

Meanwhile, the Party’s Publicity Secretary in the state, Mr Godwin Erhahon has apologised to journalists covering the primary election for the lateness in the release of their accreditation cards.

He attributed the fault to the national body that is handling the accreditation for journalists.
