ABUJA — The monthly Premium Moto Spirit Price Watch from the National Bureau of Statics, shows that average fuel price of the commodity across the country remained significantly higher than the approved N87 pump price.

This happened despite efforts by Federal Government to end sharp practices among the marketers and to ensure total compliance to constant availability of the product.

According to the NBS report, average petrol price across the country in November was N139.8 per litre, which appears to be on increasing trend as the previous months’ record showed.

The report indicated that the product sold at higher prices in  major oil states.

For instance, the product sold at N187.50 in Akwa Ibom state, N146.59 in Abia, N139.57 in River, N126.30 in Imo, N140.40 in Cross River state, whereas the same product sold at N91.50 in Katsina state, N91.33 in Bauchi and N91.33 in Ogun state, which was the lowest in all the 36 states including the FCT, where the PMS sold at N102.75.
