There was pandemonium on Monday, in the Alausa area of Lagos State, as fire resulting from power surge gutted the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS), Headquarters, at the Good Shepherd House, Alausa.

The LIRS-building, after men of the State Fire Service successfully battled the fire.

Vanguard gathered that the third floor which houses office of the Director of Administration got gutted by the fire which started about 8.30am

Men of the Lagos State Fire Service whose station is a stone throw to the tax office were prompt in responding to the distress call.

Although, the degree of the damage are yet to be ascertained, but the fire was put out about 30 minutes after it started.
