My wife,God changed me, says Eagles striker Salami

Super Eagles striker Gbolahan Salami on Thursday in Abuja said marriage has turned him now into a changed person  Salami, a Warri Wolves FC star striker, got married to Opeloyeru Lolade on Dec. 21, 2014 in Lagos.

Salami told newsmen that his negative lifestyle was a thing of the past, and meeting his wife was one of the best things that have happened to him.

“I am so happy today, because God changed my life and made me who I am,’’ the former Shooting Stars FC player who has the nickname `Mario Balotelli’, after the Italian striker perceived to be aggressive and stubborn both on and off the field of play, said.

“I also thank my wife because when you are married, it opens ways for better things. You need to be happy in your marriage and with your wife.

“I discovered that I was not living a good life before and things changed for good,’’ Salami added.

He then urged Nigerians not to see him as the old Salami but as a husband who God had changed for good.

“I am now a different person from what people used to know,’’ the striker added.

Salami is among the home-based players currently in the Super Eagles camp in Abuja.

They are in camp for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier away to Tanzania on Sept. 5 in Dar es Salaam
