Leading entertainers in the music and comedy industry will on Sunday, July 26, storm the  Church of God Mission International, Grace Chapel, Mile 12, Lagos for one of the biggest gospel jamz called ‘The Encounter’. In its 4th edition, this year’s  promises to be spiritually uplifting as well as entertaining.

“’The Encounter’ is well known as a platform for quality gospel entertainment. The main content is gospel music; I call it soul lifting music, ethical comedy and dance. It is a whole package of entertainment that is strictly gospel and soul lifting and it will kick-off at exactly 3pm prompt. It’s going to be entertainment like you’ve never had it before,”says gospel singer, Johhny Kabas who is the convener of the event.

The headliners include Princess Anne Inyang, MC Abbey, Centrik, Johnny Kabas, CeeY, Sohlah Babs and Eldero. The event also features MC Ajele, Laff Doctor, Gospel Shakers, AGV, Favish Eyak among others. The host of the event is Rev. M. A Lamai.

Speaking on the idea behind ‘The Encounter’ the Akwa Ibom-born act, Johnny Kabas said, it was a vision borne out of necessity. According to him, “The programme is an inspiration from God. When I started this journey, the biggest challenge I faced was having a platform to showcase  my talent.

But by the grace of God, I have been able to overcome that hurdle. And having broken that jinx, I decided to embark on this project considering the fact that there are lots of untapped talents  who may be facing difficulties realizing their dreams in life.

I thought it will be one of the things I can do to help myself and others that are trying to come up .”  ‘The Encounter’, he said, is not only to promote young acts but also to give them the rare opportunity of mingling with experienced acts.
