Househelp in court for stealing N15m jewellery from employer

Lagos—The police, Wednesday, brought a 28 years old housekeeper, Hope Hazhi, before a Tinubu Chief Magistrate’s Court in Lagos for stealing her employer’s jewellery worth N15 million.

The defendant, who resides at Akpako House, Ipare area of Lekki, Lagos, is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing levelled against her by the police.

The prosecutor, ASP Chidi Okoye, told the court that the defendant’s accom-plices were still at large.

He said the incident took place on April 30 at 10, Susan Oji Street, Ikota Royal Estate, Ajah, along the Lekki-Epe Expressway, Lagos.

Magistrate Abimbola Awogboro admitted the defendants bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case to June 29 for mention.
