‘APC ready to resist election rigging’

‘APC ready to resist election rigging’

By Austin Ogwuda

Enugu—ENUGU State chapter of All Progressives Congress, APC, has said members of the party were prepared to resist any form of rigging in next month’s elections in the state, insisting that the people’s votes must count this time.

Chairman of the party in the state, Dr. Ben Nwoye, while speaking at a radio programme in Enugu, tagged Political Voices, said: “It will not be business as usual in these elections. Our votes must count, because the change our people have been yearning for is here, and we must embrace it through APC.”

Nwoye, who is also the senatorial candidate of the party for Enugu East district, warned those plotting to rig at the state and national level to jettison the idea, saying it would backfire.

He said he entered the senatorial race because his opponents from other political parties had nothing to offer. Nwoye challenged them to a media debate.

He said: “It is on record that those that have been representing Enugu East have remained political disasters to the people of the zone. If given the mandate, I am going to attract international donor agencies that will boost the educational sector of Enugu state.

“Especially the Institute of Management and Technology, IMT, and, Enugu State University of Science and Technology, ESUT, that is presently in terrible shape.”
