Gbonigi, Olajumoke & Falae: Fighting the Yoruba cause
By JOSEPH ERUNKE
DELEGATES from Oyo and Osun states have opposed submission by their counterparts in other South Western states for creation of Ijebu State out of the present Ogun State.
The delegates said if any state would be created from the region, it has to be from Oyo State, considering the population and the land mass of the state.
At a media briefing at the weekend in Abuja, the delegates from the two states, through Chief Adeniyi, SAN, accused leaders of Yoruba delegates to the confab of ‘sell out for making such recommendations.
The said what they presented as common position of southern Nigeria delegates does not represent the interest of various states from the South-West.
