THE Customs Area Controller, Western Marine Command; Zakka Audu, weekend, said it had identified Kese, a coastal community in Badagry Local Government Area of Lagos State, as the newest route for smugglers into Ogun State.
Audu disclosed that the command in two days seized goods worth N12 million in the area.
According to him, the first seizure on November 9 consisted of 1,225 cartons of frozen poultry products and 55 bags of rice.
“The duty paid value of the seized poultry products was N7.9 million, while rice was N614,000,” he explained.
He said that 200 cartons of frozen poultry products and 200 bags of rice valued at N1.3 million and N2.2 million respectively were seized on November 10.
