LAGOS — The police, yesterday, arraigned a 23-year-old man, Damilola Aderemi, who allegedly stabbed a barman in Ifako Gbagada, Lagos.
The accused is facing a two-count charge of malicious damage and assault before a Yaba Magistrates’ Court.
The prosecutor, Inspector Chris Takim, told the court that the accused used a broken bottle to stab Mr Victor Oluwafemi, a worker of the BamBam’s Event on November 17 at Ifako Gbagada.
Takim said the accused entered BamBam’s Event premises with a broken bottle and stabbed the barman on the lips and stomach.
He said Oluwafemi was still receiving treatment in a hospital.
The prosecutor also told the court that Aderemi destroyed musical instruments and bottles with contents.
The prosecutor said that the damaged property, valued at N365,350, belonged to the organisation.
He said that the reason for the outrage of the accused was unknown .
Takim said the offences contravened Sections 244 and 349 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty, and was granted bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
The Magistrate, Chief Bola Folarin-Williams, adjourned the case till December 19 for mention.
