LAGOS – THREE members of a notorious robbery gang who allegedly took part in the killing of five policemen and two civilians in separate robbery operations in Ajah and Oyingbo areas of the Lagos State earlier in the month have been shot dead.

Vanguard gathered that the operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, in Ikeja, who were on the trail of the bandits since the January 12, 2012, robbery incidents occurred, engaged members of the gang in a shoot-out at NYSC Camp in Iyanapaja, Lagos.

Police sources intimidated Vanguard that SARS operatives received an intelligence report on Sunday evening that members of the gang had stormed the NYSC  Camp, which serve as their  hide-out, in  a blue coloured, Honda Civic (registration number withheld )and were strategising to carry out a robbery attack  in a yet-to- be- ascertained area of the state.
