LAGOS—Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chairmanship candidate for Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA in the last council election in Lagos State, Otunba Busari Ayinde, Wednesday, denied ever submitting any fake certificate for the election.

Ayinde, who was recently declared winner of the said election by the state Election Petition Tribunal, told Vanguard, that “the allegation of presenting a fake certificate by me is a mere propaganda and a way of diverting people’s attention from the matters on ground by Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, because they are not comfortable with the decision of the tribunal.

“All documents requested by Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission, LASIEC, from all candidates before the election were submitted and subjected to screening before the election and this is almost a year and a half now. I challenged the declaration of ACN winner of the October 22, 2011 local government election by LASIEC because the result of the election was never declared. They released the result and announced ACN as winner.

ACN,won the Osun and Ekiti tates governorship polls through judicial process which was accepted by the PDP. The party is supposed to obey the rulings of the tribunal, but instead, they resorted to blackmail, threat to my life, and now allegation of fake certificate.’’
