The gale of defeat sweeping through Nigerian tennis claimed additional casualties Tuesday as Fatima Abinu, Samuel Omoile and John lost their respective first round singles matches at the Governor’s Cup Futures I holding at the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club in Onikan.

Abinu lost to top seed, Nina Bratchikova of Russia in quick sets of 1-6, 1-6 while Samuel Omoile, a rising tennis player, fell 2-6, 1-6 to Ka rim-Mohammed Maamoun of Egypt,  Kento Takechi of Japan brushed aside John Otu in quick sets of 6-1,6-1.
