Tompolo, Boyloaf face-off worries ex-militants

By WILSON YAFUGBORHI

YENAGOA—Some former militants under the aegis of Ex-Niger Delta Militant Agitators Leadership Forum, ENDMALF, have express concern over the verbal face-off between Chief Government Ekpemukpolo a.k.a Tompolo and Mr. Ebikabowei Victor (Ex-General Boyloaf).

ENDMALF and another group, Coalition of Niger Deltans for Justice and Development, CONJUD, in a statement, yesterday, said the war of words between the former militant warlords was demeaning their status, the overall image of ex-militants and the ideals for which they took up arms in protest.

The statement by Mr. Pastor Rueben for ENDMALF  and Ebiakpo Barle, National President, CONJUD, enjoined  feuding parties to ceasefire in the continuing verbal war and embrace civility in resolving whatever dispute they had.

“This bickering and name- calling to all intents and purposes cannot yield any useful result other than portray us as a group of self-fish individuals and leaders pursuing individual gains and agenda.”

They said the Tompolo/Boyloaf face-off demonstrates disunity among Ijaw, adding that the development was making oil multinationals in the area to look down on Ijaw host communities.

The statement cited perceived unjustified sack of Mr. Davis Alabrah, an indigene of Sagbama by Shell Petroleum Development Company, as demonstration of disrespect to the Ijaw communities by the multinationals.

They called on Shell and perceived collaborators in the sack of Alabrah to without further delay, recall him in the interest of mutual peace for the Ijaw and the company.
