IT was joy unspeakable on Sunday as the General Over-seer of the Redeemed Christian Church, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye with his wife, Pastor (Mrs.) Folu Adeboye in tow, made his way into the headquarters of Lagos Province 23 of the church, Gbagada for his first preaching engagement after the special Holy Ghost Service which coincided with his 70th birthday anniversary.
Dressed in a butter-coloured French suit with a bow tie to march, the General Overseer, preaching on a theme, ‘Divine Visitation’, with insiration from Judges 6:11-14, urged Christ-ians to be steadfast in their commitment to righteousness, stressing that God calls those things that be not as though they were; God will be with you and Go and fulfil your destiny.
He explained that after the March special Holy Ghost service he decided to rest and at the end a prayer session for his children all over the world, the previous Sunday, he remembered a request made by the provincial pastor earlier in the year.
Earlier in her brief remarks, Pastor (Mrs) Adeboye urged husbands and wives to stop fighting themselves, “the days of fighting are gone. It’s time to worship God.”
According to her, the revival has begun and “we must key in to it. We should be mindful of the time.”
In his welcome address, pastor in charge of the Province, Pastor Brown Oyitso described Pastor Adeboye as a Father in deed, pointing out that his biological father died while he was just six years and didn’t have the benefit of fatherhood until he came to RCCG.
According to him, he was amazed one day when Daddy wrote a small note to him, say-ing; “My Son, prepare to take the message.” He also used the occasion to congratulate Daddy G.O. for his 70th birthday.
