VIOLENCE erupted at Ibusa, Oshimili North local government area of Delta State which led to temporary disruption of Tuesday’s elections before reinforcement of security agents brought the situation to normalcy.
Incidentally, Ibusa is the home town of the Delta State Chairman of PDP, Chief Peter Nwaoboshi.
As a result of sporadic shooting by hired thugs, voters and INEC officials scampered for safety.
During the confusion, ballot boxes were snatched. Areas affected by the violence were Ward 5, Unit 2 (Isieke), Unit 6 (Ogbeowele), Unit 1 (Post Office) and Unit 3 (Nkpanyale).
State Police command’s spokesman, Mr. Charles Muka confirmed the report saying that “one person is already in our custody over the disruption”.
However poling at Asaba, Delta State capital was peaceful.
