LAGOS -The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, and the Imo Rescue Group, IRG,have urged students from Imo State and the entire country to vote for only deserving Nigerians during the April 2011 general elections.
The national president of NANS, Mr. Jude Martins said in Owerri that “it is clear to the Nigerian youths that the present government of Imo State has failed the youths” even as he explained that the 10,000 jobs which the state Government promised and collected the sum of N2,000 from over 500,000 unemployed indigenes of the state has turned out to be fake.
Martins explained that it was unfortunate that the state government had to sell the forms to jobless youths in the sate while neighbouring states made theirs available for free.
He said that the youths should not be deceived by the sudden choice of a female professor, Mrs. Viola Onwuliri as Governor Ikedi Ohakim’s running mate whose husband is the Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Technology Owerrri.
Meanwhile the Imo Rescue Group, IRG, has criticized plans by the state government to force civil servants in the state to submit their voters registration cards to their various heads of departments.
Spokesman of the group, Mazi Clinton Eze chided the government over the desperate plan to coerce the workers to vote for Governor Ohakim while he has failed to deliver on what he described as white elephant projects.
