Mobile money: Tagattitude restates commitment to Nigeria

By Emmanuel Elebeke

Mobile payment and security technology company, Tagattitude last week reinstated its commitment to make financial transaction in Nigeria less stressful and seamless.

Showcasing the product tagged near Sound Data Transfer (NSDT) at the just concluded 2011 Mobile money Remittance summit, organized by MobileMoneyAfrica, a Director of the company, Mr. Femi Akinware said the speed at which technology has continued to drive change in the global economy had made mobile payment inevitable in Nigeria, saying that Nigerians have no option than to embrace the new mobile payment system that are being offered by modern technologies such as NSDT..

The service was launched for the Mobile Payment in June, 2010.

The product allows any mobile phone in the world to become a payment and authentication tool without any hardware or software modification.

The product among other services offers money transfers, retail payment, e-commerce transactions, just as it can be used to sign the contactless transaction securely.

According to him, Tagattitude’s core offers centres on strong authentication solutions for web access and mobile payment solutions designed for un-banked populations, adding that Tagattitude’s NSDT technology enables the instant use of any phone worldwide as payment tools and authentication devices: including all handsets, all networks, no SMS, no downloads, no hassle.

“It’s very important to offer a full line of mobile payment terminals. Our technology, NSDT offers the only low-cost, secure, and user friendly way of making mobile payments at a point of sale, since no other solutions exist, we are serious about making sure ours works for every type of merchant or payment. The TagPay1000SMS makes mobile payment even more convenient for merchants who wish to use their own phones instead of using a separate terminal device,” said Tagattitude Chief Executive Officer, Yves Eonnet.

Tagattitude is also said to be capable of proposing NSDT based solutions for other markets including:: strong web authentication, VSA, mobile marketing, physical access control, and social networking.

Tagattitude specializes in mobile payment and security technologies and was founded in 2005 by smart-card industry expert Yves Eonnet and telecom industry expert Herve Manceron.

Akinware further explained that NSDT technology has the capacity to determine the physical proximity of a mobile phone to another phone or other device such as: a web page or computer, audio tag, ATM, electronic key lock, distributor or borne, and virtually any device that can make or receive sound.

On social networking, Akinware explained that online social networking websites can use NSDT to make face-to-face connections via their user’s mobile phones.
