ONE-TIME Supervisory councillor in the old Warri South Local Government and Itsekiri activist, Mr. Julius Otiri, says his association with the Chief Edwin  Clark’s group of Delta State Elders, Leaders and Stakeholders’ Forum is solely to actualise the 2011 Presidential ambition of President Goodluck Jonathan

He added that his group was not a signatory to any document that would jeopardise the chances of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the impending Delta State guber re-run.
The renowned politician, who is a product of late Chief Obafemi Awolowo’s political philosophy, made the clarification in an exclusive chat with Sunday Vanguard, yesterday, in Warri, following misrepresentations that his belief in the President Goodluck Jonathan’s 2011 bid as well as his association with the Clark’s group is an anti-Itsekiri posture.

Otiri, who said he was committed to President  Jonathan’s 2011 ambition wondered why “after several selfless services to the Itsekiri nation,” in particular and the state in general, his recent political association is being misconstrued in some quarters.

He reaffirmed his commitment to PDP at the state and federal levels and enjoined all members of the party to embrace the on-going move to reconcile all aggrieved members of the party in the state rather than engage in campaign of calumny.
