Barley few days to the re-run election in Delta State scheduled for January 6, the state chapter of Labour Party has thrown its weight behind the candidature of Dr. Emmanuel Uguaghan of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, saying that the former governor remains the best material among those contesting for the governorship of the state.
Spokesman of LP in the state, Comrade Onosakponome Donaldson, made this declaration, Thursday, at a press briefing held in Lagos. According to him, “Labour Party has decided to mobilise the people of Delta State to vote en masse for Dr. Emmanuel Udughan after making a critical assessment of all the candidates in the guber re-run. This is a critical point in the state and a decision has to be taken for the good governance of the state, moreso as the Labour Party has no candidate for the re-run”
The LP chieftain said that “other candidates in the race cannot cope with the demands of the multi ethnic state as most of them cannot be regarded as role models, adding that the former governor has not only done well for the state but has been a labour friendly governor”.
