*IBB to declare Sept 15

ABUJA—Former military President and Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Presidential hopeful, General Ibrahim Babangida (rtd), has appointed the Chairman, African Independent Television, AIT, Raypower, Chief Raymond Aleogho Dokpesi, as  Director-General of his presidential campaign organisation.

Besides, the former military ruler is expected to declare formally his presidential ambition between September 14 &15, 2010, at the Eagle Square, Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja.

Babangida will use the occasion of the declaration to unveil his blueprint to members of the public.

A statement by Babangida’s media spokesperson, Prince Kassim Afegbua, announcing this development yesterday, also named Senator Kanti Bello as the Deputy Director-General of the campaign organisation.

Other members include, Alhaji Sada Ilu Director, Security &Intelligence, Prof. A.B.C Nwosu, Director, Research &Planning, Prof. Sam Oyovbaire, Director, Policy & Strategy, Prince Kassim Afegbua, Director, Media and communications.

Also on the list were Chief (Mrs.) Remi Adiukwu-Bakare. Director, Women Affairs, Alhaji Farouk Bibi-Farouk, Director, Youths Affairs, Alhaji Shehu Musa Gabam, Director, Contact & Mobilisation  and Hon Musa Elayo who will serve as Director, Legal Services.

The statement added, “the comprehensive list of the zonal and states’ coordinators will be announced in due course. The temporary campaign office is located at 77B, Aguiyi Ironsi Street, Maitama Abuja.”
