No reasonable Nigerian can at this time pretend to be in any doubt about the fact that arrangements are in top gear to amend or to alter the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999.

The Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, will next month, in Ibadan, Oyo State, elect its national officers, to run the
affairs of the association for the next two years. Unlike in 2008, when the President of the association emerged without a formal contest, two prominent Senior Advocates of Nigeria, Chief Joe-Kyari Gadzama and Mr Joseph Daudu, are slugging it out for the position, which had been zoned to the North.

As a prelude to the forthcoming elections in Nigeria, a lot of political slogans and sobriquets have been coined to entice and/or lure voters into casting their preferences for some candidates and/or their respective political parties. One of such political coinages is the now much advertised “one man one vote” slogan.

The NBA Delegates’ Election 2010, which is to produce the next President of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, for the next 2 years, needs a diligent, dedicated, upright, transparent and devoted patriot with tremendous international exposure to lead it into the 2nd decade of this century.
