From 3:27 p.m. when a detachment of 14 policemen stormed the Glass House secretariat of the Nigeria Football Association, Abuja , yesterday, it was no longer business as usual.
The policemen arrived in a Hilux pick-up van with registration number NPF 2467C. Soon after their arrival, three of the policemen, among them a senior officer went up stairs where they met with the NFA president, Abdullahi Sani Lulu.
While they were still in Lulu’s office, Taiwo Ogunjobi drove in. He also went upstairs and was joined by Dominic Irofa, another board member. The three board members were still holed up in Lulu’s office with the policemen as at the time of this report. We however noticed that some of the policemen took some files out of the NFA offices into their waiting van and drove away.
Meanwhile, the significance of yesterday’s event was underscored by the fact that staff of the secretariat that usually stay up till 10 to 11 pm were seen hurrying out of their offices as early as 4:30 p.m.
